The Mommy Challenge

I can't believe it is already July. The Thinking of Nat Challenge was my favorite so far, and it was timed well in my life. I hope you will keep passing on books in Nat's name. I can imagine that would make her happy. However, it is time for something new here on the Nattie Challenge Blog. I had a few ideas, but this one was sparked by the last challenge and a couple of wonderful ladies who participated, one way or another.

Wendy chose to read The Bright Side of Disaster by Katherine Center, and Katherine sent her (center, sent her) a copy to give away AND she sent me a copy as well. How sweet is she? The reason Wendy chose the book, in the first place, was that Motherhood was very important to Nat. Her children are both amazing and were blessed to have a mother who loved them desperately, even if only for a short while. So, this challenge is in honor of Nat and her son and daughter, Jonathan and Anna.

The Mommy Challenge

Read something Mommy-oriented (even if you are a Daddy, hee hee). It doesn't matter if you have kids or not. This can be a novel about a mother or a book on how to be a better mother, etc... As always, it is up to you to take this challenge to heart as you wish.

Part 2 of the challenge is to read to a child, yours or someone else's.

You have all of July. Enjoy! Keep me updated!

Heather

PS I will be reading The Bright Side of Disaster, of course. ;)

I'll be reading books regarding homeschooling and I read to my kids everyday! EASY challenge for me! =)

I'll let you know what books I've read by the end of the month.

I have a book for the plane called "Carpool Diem." (Career Mom loses job, navigates Soccer Mom network.) I'll blog about it when I get back from Vegas, and you can link it. :)

I am reading "The Secret Garden" to my girls.

Completed! Read "Carpool Diem" and it wasn't all that. I blogged about it on the DCW blog.

I can check off reading to kids since I do that every day. :) Now to find a Mommy book (although, seriously, I qualify any time that I can find to read as Mommy-book time). LOL :)

I've already read a book to my granddaughter this month, and I've started a book about parenting adult children, since that's what all of mine are. :-) I'll let you know if I finish in time. Thanks again, Heather, for a great challenge.

I didn't finish "Your Kids Are Grown" in July, but I did get about halfway through it. I do hope to finish it eventually.
